Andela needed to create a transformative learning program in order to distribute world-class software development skills to an entire continent of aspiring engineers. The program needed to cover not just technical skills, but also team skills - everything to ensure every engineer achieves full mastery of the curriculum to the company’s standards.
Having built half a dozen bootcamps and learning programs for mastering technical and communication skills, we created a customized 90-day onboarding and training program. Paired with recruiting and hiring protocols that attracted the most elite talent, we built a program that allowed hundreds of engineers to simultaneously ramp at scale. We integrated it into their workflows and tech stack, allowing them to learn as they work without adding additional overhead.
With fully-customized programs, and a one-of-a-kind curriculum designed specifically for Andela’s needs, they also needed a way to scale the coaching, training, and mentoring required to onboard at scale. We developed a coaching and training program that allowed them to take ownership of their own learning, development, and performance, which inspired courage and confidence to then coach others.
Andela’s own network of engineers was able to onboard and coach each other, allowing them to scale remotely across 8 countries without sacrificing quality. They were free to do what they do best, outcompete engineering talent providers around the world.
